Van Gogh Landscape Prints

Van Gogh devoted much of his art to capturing the unique light of the south of France. He completed countless paintings of the landscape and its inhabitants in Provence. His motifs included Cyprus trees, olive groves, orchards and regional wildlife. The beautiful surroundings of Arles inspired Van Gogh to paint over 300 landscapes in just 15 months. The drawbridge over the Rhone near Arles was one of Van Gogh's best known landscape motifs. He painted 10 different versions of the scene which supposedly reminded him of his home in the Netherlands. He also captured quiet avenues and the enchantment of nighttime such as in his most famous painting The Starry Night.

The Starry Night was not Van Gogh's first nighttime landscape. Two of his other famous landscape paintings also depict the night, Cafe Terrace at Night and Starry Night over the Rhone. Some of Van Gogh's other best selling landscape prints and posters include wheatfield landscapes such as Wheatfield with Crows, c. 1890, and Wheatfield with Cypresses, c. 1889.

Landscape prints are some of the most popular choices when adding art to a home. Van Gogh's landscape paintings are some of the most beautiful to be found. With such a variety of options to choose from you will have no trouble finding a Van Gogh landscape that you can get lost in.
