Van Gogh Floral Prints
Van Gogh was inspired by the beauty and colors found in nature. He brought this passion
to life in some of the most vibrant illustrations of the natural world ever put on canvas.
Van Gogh frequently used flowers in his paintings and did a lot of experimentation with them.
He used distinct varieties such as roses, irises, poppies and his most famous sunflowers.
Van Gogh created two series of sunflower paintings the first series with the flowers lying down
and the second with the flowers in a vase. The flowers were painted as still-life as well as nature
scenes such as in Irises, 1889. Van Gogh's floral paintings allowed him to experiment with color as
well as movement. Color was often his main concern, as it was with all of the impressionist and
post-impressionist artists.
Toward the end of his life, Van Gogh's paintings of flowers and plants became more beautiful and more
vivid. A floral print of one of these vibrant and gorgeous paintings can be a great addition to the decor of any home
or office. There are numerous floral prints to choose from. Some are light and bright and others have
a much more somber and darker tone.
