James W. Harris holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Fine Arts and technical Illustration. James' nature studies and landscapes have won numerous awards and are displayed in large corporate collections, such as Burger King, Nations Bank and Re-Max Realty. James was born in Chicago, Illinois and now resides in Delray Beach, Florida where he has an established studio and gallery showroom. "I draw inspiration from ordinary experiences of everyday life: double rainbow skies, salt air, watching the movements of birds and animals, and studying the play of sunlight and shadows. I construct scenes which combine life experiences with a blend of imagination and photo research. I sketch on location to capture moods and color, relying on photography to bring compositional details accurately together. I absorb the sounds and smells enveloping me.
