Aklilu Temesgen Wall Art

Aklilu Temesgen (Born 1980) is a professional mixed media artist, painter, and visual artist who lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and works at 5 Art Studio and Gallery. His fluid use of abstract form and style creates a collection of work that attracts the attention of the viewers. He creates lucid narratives of Ethiopian life in favor for representations that are much more pleasing to the eye. Temesgen’s strong play of expressive form, color and pattern is a result of his continuing exploration of the traditional abstract style found within the visual history of Ethiopia. His slack interpretations of modern-day Ethiopian life create melodious artistic pieces which are characterized by a vivacity of movement and color. He currently works and resides in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Temesgen is a graduate of Addis Ababa University, School of Fine Arts and Design. He graduated with a distinction.

The artist has participated in many group and solo exhibitions around the world and is and internationally collected artist. His paintings are unique and easily recognizable. He has participated in shows at The Blen Art show, New York, U.S.A 2004 (Celebrating the life of Skunder Boghossian), National Black Fine Art show, New York. Many collectors highly price his art due to their quality. His art also inspires both the upcoming and established artists. They can be seen adorning many prestigious spaces around the world. Temesgen strives to keep his art fresh by being open to learning new styles and by travelling and reading widely. Over the years he has built a name for himself as one of the best artists internationally.
