Maret Hensick Wall Art

Maret Hensick was raised in Europe from the age of nine but was born in the United States. Growing up abroad together with her sisters made her acutely visual. She later returned to the US and joined the University of Pennsylvania from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts. Her style reflects her travels and rich life experiences. She took up a career in Fine Art because that’s where her passion lies. She continues to develop the career concurrently with her licensed design work. Maret went to Germany where she worked as a commercial artist for two years before she once again returned to the US where she worked in the studio of Leo Lasansky. The artist felt a great need to express herself. Her paintings are narratives of the private discourse she always has with herself.

Almost all of her paintings have written lines or titles that explain the inspiration or thought process. Her inspiration comes from everywhere: poetry, travel, books, music, gardens, museums, etc. Her inspiration also comes from a new technique or new technology. She says that it comes when an idea fails to work but she keeps on pushing until the idea comes to life. While working in Leo Lasansky’s studio, she was introduced to print making which made her to begin her ongoing career as a fine artist. Her outgoing personality has made her to attract a huge following of loyal fans. Beauty, humor and color are the invariable threads throughout her artwork. Her paintings are reflections of the visual details and stories she observes.
