He has over twenty years of experience producing designs and illustrations for a number of leading publishers and manufacturers within the giftware industry, across the United States of America, Europe and United Kingdom. Brown varies his subject matter to increase the collectability of his art. His real name is Jan Pashley, a name that he has worked under alongside the name Abbi Brown.
Although he continued to produce illustrations in the Abbi Brown style, beginning 2010 onwards he decided to use the name Jan Pashley for all his new works. In the same year he decided to represent himself – he was formerly represented by Libba Jones Associates. The art that he produced under the name Abbi Brown have been characterized by cuter, softer style of illustration. This enabled him to develop an alternative, distinct look from his Jan Pashley designs. He has a website where publishers can view a wide range of his art and also contact him to discuss commissions and licensing. This is a very exciting venture for him.
