Lisa Congdon Wall Art

Lisa Congdon is an illustrator and fine artist who is known for her beautiful paintings, and also for her pattern design, complicated line drawings and hand lettering. Lisa currently works for clients the world over including Harvard University, MoMA, Chronicle Books, Martha Stewart Living, and Random House Publishing, to name just a few. She also writes a popular daily blog that covers her inspiration, life and work. The blog called “Today is Going to be Awesome.” The artist is the author of 6 books, which include The Essential Guide to Building Your Career as an Artist. She has also illustrated books including Fortune Favors the Brave, The Joy of Swimming, Be a Good One, Whatever You Are, A Collection a Day and Twenty Ways to Draw a Tulip. Her 7th book, Older Women Leading Extraordinary Lives was released in October 2017 by Chronicle Books.

She works and lives in Portland, Oregon. The artist is proof that coming to the scene ‘late’ can be as rewarding as coming to the scene early. She spent the first fifteen years of her career in public education. She first worked as a teacher and later worked in a non-profit. She felt exceptionally committed to the public education cause, but she also had a feeling that there was something missing from her daily experience – there was no satisfaction in her life. In her early 30’s, when she started taking art classes, she discovered that missing piece and things started falling in place. The artist in her was awakened.
