From childhood on, Sandy Lloyd has been fascinated by historic costumes and personalities, and spellbound by the quixotic glamour of timeless Paris. She likes to think her work takes the viewer on a tumultuous journey to an enchanting place and leaving the viewer looking for more. Lloyd is an extraordinary photographer and artist who creates evocative, marvelous mixed-media art that are as beautiful as they are captivating. She has always had a connection with the past and she’s certain this seed was planted by her grandmother who raised her. The grandmother introduced her to the world and to most of the things s knows today. The artist is self-taught, with the exception of 2 years she spent in a design school.
Working with a combination of elements that include vintage ephemera and her own vivid photography, she creates mixed-media collages that showcase the allure of the Roaring Twenties and also the best of Paris, set in her local community in Washington State on Puget Sound. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, She made Port Orchard, Washington to be her home for nearly 10 years. The magical scenery and the wide open spaces of the Pacific Northwest have been the source of inspiration for much of her art recently, but Sandy also has a wide-ranging portfolio featuring pieces with seasonal themed images and European images inspired by historical eras such as Belle Epoque Paris, 18th century France, and the 1920's. She’s delighted to represent the charming, beautiful and often compelling images to her clients.
