Deborah Kopka Wall Art

Deborah Kopka has been a botanical artist since 1993. She also teaches Mixed Media and Watercolor in community college and university adult education programs. She also teaches in botanical gardens, such as the Nichols Arboretum and the Matthaei Botanical Gardens at the University of Michigan and the Botanical Gardens (Pittsburgh) and Phipps Conservatory. She became a botanical illustration instructor in the School of Art and Design at Toledo Museum of Art, an internationally recognized institution for several years. She studied botanical illustration while she was in England. She also studied Design in Los Angeles and editorial illustration at Otis College of Art. Deborah also holds a Botanical Art Diploma. She’s a former Editorial Director who worked with The McGraw-Hill Companies for several years.

She’s has been a publishing professional for more than 35 years and she works with international and domestic educational publishers. Deborah has co-authored or authored 12 non-fiction children’s books. She lives with her husband and their daughters Erin and Sean on the Maumee River in the Ohio town of Perrysburg, where she paints the plants of the gardens and the features that surround her home and studio. In 2012 an exhibition of her works of art was featured by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in Columbus, Ohio. Deborah is a member of many profession art societies where her contributions are very valuable. She believes in herself and the service that she provides to her customers. Her works of art are availed in a variety of finishing options.
