Mark Citret Art Prints

Born in Buffalo, New York, photographer Mark Citret grew up in San Francisco, California. He received both his B.A. and M.A. in art from San Francisco State University. Citret has worked on a diverse range of photographic projects during the course of his career. Between 1973 and 1975 he lived in and photographed a farming valley in New York's Catskill Mountains. In the 1980s he produced many photos of the architecture found in U.S. national parks. For the past 17 years, he has photographed the ocean and sky from the cliff behind his home. He is also currently engaged in an ambitious commission from the University of California at San Francisco to document the construction of their 43-acre life-sciences campus. Citret has taught photography at the University of California Berkeley Extension since 1982 and at the University of California Santa Cruz Extension since 1988, among other places. His work is represented by prominent photography galleries in the United States, and is included in many museum, corporate, and private collections, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, both in California. Citret lives in Daly City, California, with his wife and twin sons.
