Michele Killman Wall Art

Artist Michele Killman grew up in San Diego, California. She was greatly influenced by her grandmother who fell in love with art at the age of 70 and would encourage the young Michele to paint with her. She learnt a lot by observing her grandmother’s work and most of the time she could use her grandmother’s materials to do her own paintings. She enjoyed art as a child, and when she joined grade school, she won a handful of art awards. Michele was good in mathematics and science, so at the University of California she earned a B.A. in Biology. After graduation, she worked as a high-tech marketing executive for 15 years. The part she liked most in her work was working with the creative team in creating and designing websites, brochures, TV commercials, and logos.

She has always loved the creative process, whether it involves fine art or creating marketing materials, and promised herself that one day she would pursue her love of painting on a full-time basis. Michele participated in Artwalk 2003 in Little Italy in downtown San Diego; and in April 2002, her work was shown in a solo exhibition in Del Mar, California. She has also participated in group exhibitions in California. She loves to approach a blank canvas with just a twinkle of an idea, and then have something emerge that makes people feel good and smile. Her work is colorful and light-hearted, reminding people about the things in life that are happy and wonderful and making them smile.
