Vincent van Gogh painted some 900 paintings and made over 1,100 drawings and sketches throughout his career. During his lifetime he only sold one painting, yet today his paintings sell for millions of dollars and are some of the most sought after artwork in the world.
His unique vision, brushstrokes, and use of color influenced numerous artists that followed including
Picasso, Matisse,
