John Nolan Wall Art

John Nolan (Born 1958) was born in Dublin Ireland. He has developed a very distinctive style of painting which is instantly recognizable. His father and his mother were artists and were huge influence. His exuberant style combines bright exotic colors with bold outlines. The celebration of form and color has preoccupied Nolan from an early age and was nurtured through the instruction and encouragement received from his father who was also an artist. Nolan’s interpretation of various motifs transmits a positive upbeat feeling to his clients. The motifs include people, collage, birds, fish, still life, flowers, abstract, landscapes, etc. Nolan was nominated as one of the artists to represent Ireland at “The Biennale Internazionale Dell Arte Contemporanea” by the International committee. The event took place in Florence in December 2003.

It was a great honour for him as an Irish Artist to represent Ireland at this international venue, and a great honour to be recognized internationally. Nolan ran a small gallery called The Basement. It was a friendly place where he treated browsers to a cup of tea and a chat. For him, painting is in his blood. From the time he was 3 he had a paintbrush in his hand. Their house was always like a big studio to him, and there was no escaping it, because both his parents were artistic too. He couldn’t work at anything else now. Nolan claims that his approach is basically spontaneous. From his artwork, it is apparent that his knowledge of art history and color theory is far from shallow.
