William Tombleson Wall Art

William Tombleson (Born 1795 – Died 1846) was an architecture and topographical artist, copper and steel engraver, illustrator, printmaker and writer, based in London, England. Around 1830, his topographical drawings of the rivers Medway and Thames in England and of the upper middle River Rhine in Germany, and were published as books and engraved prints. He provided 69 illustrations for volume 1 of "Views of the Rhine etc." - the book was also published in German and French editions. Engravers who worked on his drawings included John Cleghorn, Thomas Clark, R. Harris, T. Cox, J. Howe, W. Hood, O. Smith, W. Lacey, J. Stokes, Shenfield, W. Tombleson, D. Thompson, R. Wilson, W. Watts, H. Winkles and others. Through this venture Tombleson provided high quality art to his clients.
