Kate Knight Wall Art

Artist Kate Knight is based in Kent. She works primarily with figurative and object based imagery, with an aim of expressing the aesthetics of sex, desire and death. Her works are descriptive, and they aim at recalling the memory of the body. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design. She graduated in 2005 and since then has been producing attractive pieces of art. The art is playful, provocative, tongue in cheek and harsh. Her compositions establish series of graphic signs aiming to evoke a narrative that can either be epic or fleeting. In 2010, she was selected as the runner-up for the Marmite Prize for Painting. Kate always strives to produce pieces of art that are perfect. Even though searching for perfection is always elusive, it helps keep her designs fresh, and in turn means her portfolio is always evolving.

She’s open to learning new techniques and styles and the freshness of her designs can easily be seen in the quality of her art which can be used to decorate any space. Her biggest inspiration was my Grandmother. She has lots of happy childhood memories of the time they spent painting together. For as long as she can remember all she wanted to be was an artist and her grandmother helped her along the way. Her love of art grew out of the passion she has for flowers, pattern and color. She currently explores watercolor but at the same time works in oil.
