R.W. Hedge Wall Art

Self-taught artist R.W. Hedge (Born on June 5, 1954) lived in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. He was born in Tyler, Texas, but traveled extensively and lived in other states such as Colorado and Arizona to gain knowledge and inspiration for his works. Hedge appreciated all mediums but devoted his talent to painting originals in oils. He studied the details of his subjects so as to get accurate images, and combined that with the feeling and atmosphere of being there in person. Sometimes he’s tempted to 'back off' on the color a little bit; he wanted his paintings to look real and believable. He referred to the breathtaking places in America as "God's best work," and painted them at their precise moment of perfection, when the colors and contrast were most inviting.

His paintings are represented in collections nationwide. As a self-taught artist, Hedge developed an exciting and unique style that captures the attention of all viewers. He painted with a passion for the natural and beautiful wonders of America. Hedge painted things the way they looked when he’s actually there. Anything he could see would be in the painting. Ask Hedge when he became an artist and he'd probably say he doesn't remember. That’s because even as a small child he spent serious time with crayons, markers, and pencils. At age 15, his father bought him some canvas and oil paints for his birthday. His art has been to many exhibitions and can be found in many collections all over the world. Hedge died in April of 2010.
