David Lawrence Wall Art

David Lawrence was born in Brooklyn, New York. He’s a recipient of the New York’s “Creative Arts Award.” Lawrence believes that art can stir past emotional experiences and our unconscious feelings, while also inspiring cultural integrity and self-awareness. Because of the brilliant manner in which he visualizes his scenes and objects, the artist has been recognized as one of the leading contributors to the art of the 20th century. Many new artists look upon his art as a source of inspiration. He has had a lifelong ambition to be a professional artist, and has directed all his energy towards achieving this dream. He has managed to achieve this dream in such a manner that he has launched an international market for his originals and reproductions.

An academic journey to refine his skill, coupled with his talent has resulted in his name being mentioned as one of the most influential artist of our time. Lawrence trained at the High School of Art and Design, and then at the Art Students League of New York. He studied with Jacob Lawrence, Romare Bearden, Georgia O’Keefe and Norman Rockwell. He also studied professional art and illustration at Long Island University. His art hangs in museums and galleries throughout the U.S., as well as in Italy, Barcelona, and Europe. He has also shown and promoted with members of the African-American artist group of Philadelphia. He regards works done by Romare Bearden, Pablo Picasso, Braque, and Henry Matisse as having helped to inspire the unique style that he uses in his paintings.
