Martin Nasim Wall Art

Martin Nasim (born 1977) was born in the capital of his country Bulgaria, Sofia. He is a son of two cultures. His mother is from Bulgaria and his father is from Afghanistan. Now they all live in sunny San Diego, California. He was drawing as far as he can remember and it has been interesting to him. In his teen years, Nasim fell in love with black-and-white photography which he studied for five years alongside his normal school work. In 1996, he won a special prize in International Assemble of photography organized by the Red Cross. His life went in different direction after the military. As he was searching for his way, he continued to draw small paintings and designs mostly with black marker and pencils. He has always been close to his artistic side. Nasim started tattooing in 2004 and now he is a professional tattoo artist and self-taught painter inspired by things he observed and nurtured, rearranged through his own thought-interpretation, love to find solutions with the help of his imagination.

One of the mediums he uses is paint markers and Plexiglas for canvas, the other one is skin and needles but each piece gives him energy of new love he is creating. Sometimes when he paints he just sees the image, sometimes he has no idea what is coming next or going to happen, sometimes he’s just relaxing. His canvas no matter Plexiglas, skin, paper is like his personal diary and he wants to share his art journey through life with whoever thinks its interesting finding it touching and inspiring.
