Stanton Manolakas Wall Art

Stanton Manolakas (Born in 1946) was born in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of an architectural draftsman, and his mother was a very competent artist. Manolakas’ work essentially combines that of his parents, which features cityscapes and street scenes, borrowing his mother’s artistic skill and his father’s knowledge of urbanity. He got a lot of support from his father. In fact his art was strongly influenced by his father's work and the images and the romance of the city, especially the city in winter. His first love was music, and he came to the visual arts through music. He’s a classically trained musician and he attended the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music, and the Eastman School of Music. Manolakas began painting in 1981 at the age of 35 and decided to paint exclusively in watercolor in 1984. He began to sell his work in galleries in 1985.

His biography is listed in the Marquis Edition of Who's Who in the West, Who’s Who in American Art, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World. His art are found in the collections of Datum Inc, Wolverine Bronze, Marriott Hotels, TCH Industries, and the private collections of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tarbell, Henry DuPont, Steven Bechtel, and Bernard Horowitz. Manolakas’ prints are distributed through affiliates such as Art Boom Ltd. Editions, and his work is licensed by Applejack Art Partners. All editions he offers for sale are signed and numbered. His art is found in many prestigious galleries, museums, and institutions in Michigan and beyond.
